MIA presents top class overseas companies in Manchester and organises festivals and events based on the concept of 'cultural animation'. Our successful projects all display clear artistic vision, programming skills and the ability to involve community organisations and artists along with effective administration and marketing. Over the last five years our main project has been the Streets Ahead Festival, a huge County-wide celebration, that involved local councils, artists and community groups in all 10 Districts of Greater Manchester, in a six-week long outdoor festival, in the streets and squares of towns, housing estates and parks across the region. We also founded and nurtured x.trax as a special weekend within the festival and now an independent organisation. Alongside organising our own projects, we undertake commissions for other organisations - festivals, promotions, research and training.
