In 2004 we once again turned our attention to street arts following the success of the mostly venue based showcase of culturally diverse performance that we presented in 2003 in association with the Arts Council of England’s decibel project.

Over 220 programmers attended the showcase which featured the work of more than 70 artists and companies.

Here’s a selection from some of the many flattering comments that we have received from delegates who attended and artists who presented work...

“Thank You all. It was great to be allowed to walk through your garden and taste the different fruits. Some fresh & Young, not even ripe, some sweet and juicy. Some forbidden fruits and a few too seducive not to pick! What a Delight!”
Casper de Vries – Organiser – Sterrenplucker (Netherlands) (2004 delegate)

“Thanks SO much for this weekend. We were really happy with Tattoo and the event it sat within. Great space, great organisation, great support, great production, great profile for us. Really appreciated all the help and the opportunity to showcase again …I always think the sign of good organisation is the invisibility of all the work that is going on behind the scenes to manage an event - x.trax was seamless from the outside and I know everyone was working really hard! Please pass on my thanks!!”
Richard Sobey, IOU (2004 artist)

“It lived up to its name - The Garden of Delights was completely delightful. I really enjoyed the weekend - as a punter, as representative of a company, and as an Xtrax board member. I thought there was excellent work on show, I thought the installations were great, and I particularly enjoyed being put on trial by Dotcomedy for being drunk, disorderly and dishevelled and found resoundingly guilty on all three counts. So thank you all and well done. I know how hard you all worked to make itppen, and I hope that all the people that need to open their purses to make it happen again will do so for next year.”
Liz Pugh - Producer - Walk the Plank (2004 artist)

“What a wonderful festival you helped to create! We were reluctant to leave the fantasy of The Garden of Delights and would have stayed had we not another gig the next day..."
Danielle White, manager Dennis Rollins /Boneyard (2004 artist)
