Delegate Information

Most information about the showcase programme including details of the artists performing, the timetable, hotel information and maps can be found on the website. This information is available in large print which we can email or post within 5 days or less of your request; we will try to provide other alternative formats as quickly as possible on request.

On arrival at the showcase all delegates are provided with a leaflet containing information about all the artists presenting work and a list of other delegates. If you would like a large print or alternative format of this document please contact us in advance.

Access and facilities

The showcase performances take place at various locations in Kendal town centre. These sites have a variety of surfaces including flat, uneven and hard surfaces. In wet weather the ground may become slippery. Many of the performances are mobile performances, which can be enjoyed from a single static vantage point. Further more detailed information on the individual sites will be available from Friday 30th of July.

If you have specific access requirements please contact XTRAX before the showcase and we will do our best to help. Please note the French company Les Commandos Percu will be performing on Thursday evening (2nd Sept) outside the town centre. If you would like advice or assistance on getting to the performance site please contact the office prior to the showcase.

Disabled Car Park

Car parking in Kendal Town Centre is limited. More information about disabled car park will be available shortly.

Taxi drop off points

If you are arriving by public transport or taxis and would like advice or assistance on getting to the Festival sites please contact the office prior to the showcase.

Delegate Facilities

Delegate services will be hosted in the Town Hall in Kendal Town Centre. This is a wheelchair accessible venue with lift access and accessible toilets.

BSL

We will provide BSL interpretation of talks and discussions for showcase delegates if required. Please inform us by May 4th if you require this service so that we can book appropriate interpreters. Most of the performances are highly visual and many do not contain any text, although many use live or recorded music. We regret that we are unable to provide BSL interpretation for the shows that do use text. We are working with others in the sector to encourage artists to create outdoor performances that are accessible to deaf and disabled audiences.

Induction Loops

As the performances all take place outside we are unable to provide induction loops.

Charging Electric Wheelchairs

If you know that you will need to charge your electric wheelchair at the festival, if possible please contact us beforehand to make arrangements so that we can ensure that you are not kept waiting.
