What is the Virtual Showcase?

The virtual showcase is an online meeting place for street artists and promoters, or anyone involved in outdoor arts. It features:

An online directory of street artists with over 400 artists and companies from the UK and worldwide. This can be viewed by anyone.
An online directory of promoters and producers. This service is visible only to profile holders on the Virtual Showcase and is password protected.

It is free to join and free to use. It's all FREE!

Who can join the Virtual Showcase?

The Virtual Showcase is open to all arts professionals in the UK and internationally who work in or have an interest in street arts and outdoor performance. You are welcome to create a profile as an individual or as a representative of an organisation. Your profile will be listed in either the Directory of Street Artists or the Directory of Promoters and Professionals.

What is a profile?

A profile is the contact details and description of an individual or organisation appearing on either the Directory of Street Artists or the Directory of Street Arts promoters and professionals.

A profile will feature an individual or company's contact details, information and promotional images and / or video, which will be listed on the Virtual Showcase directory. Artist profiles often detail new shows, reviews and tour dates as well as containing up to five images and two videos. Promoters usually detail their role, forthcoming festival or event dates and can currently load one image or logo. Profile holders can change and update their details, add bulletins about their work and forthcoming events or productions. As an international site, X.TRAX advises that profile holders translate their information into other European languages to increase their promotional reach. To benefit most from this resource we advise that individuals keep their event and show information up to date.

How do I create a profile?

Go to 'create a profile' page under the Virtual Showcase tab on the website. If you are planning to come to the next X.TRAX showcase you can create a profile while simultaneously registering for the showcase. These short forms are simple, quick to complete and easy to submit. Profiles created are password protected and you can choose your own password.

Once you have created a profile you will need to login with your email address and password when you come back to the site if you want to view the directory of promoters.

Loggin in will save you time when registering as a delegate for showcase events as your saved contact details will be automatically entered into the registration form fields.

Can I have more than one profile?

Yes. You can create multiple profiles using the same email address and password to manage them all. The profiles can be created in both the artist and promoters directory using the same login. To add another profile, login and click 'add profile' on the left hand panel. You will need to make a choice when completing each form whether the profile will appear in the promoters 'directory or the artists' directory. This facility is designed to reflect that many individuals have multiple roles in the sector and work with lots of organisations, festivals, events and companies.

Amending and deleting profiles

If you want to edit, update or delete your profile you can do so by logging into the site and clicking on 'edit profile' on the blue panel.

Photos

You can send either gif or jpg image at 72 dpi. The image size must not be no large than 222 pixel sq. Please take the time to amend the image specification. Send photos to nicole@xtrax.org.uk

Video (artists only)

If you would like to send us videos for the site please download the Video Submission Form LINK TO VIDEO SUBMISSION FORM, which contains all the information you need about how to send your material to us. Please read it carefully and be sure to sign the consent form.

Translation

X.TRAX is working on developing further international reach for the Virtual Showcase. We recommend that to increase your international reach you consider providing translation of your key information into other European Languages. We will contact profile holders with further information on our development plans in this area but if you have comments or suggestions please contact us.

REGISTERING FOR SHOWCASES AND EVENTS

If you have a profile on the Virtual Showcase then please login first before you register for the X.TRAX showcase. This will save you time as your contact details and description will be already entered on the form.

You will be given the option to UPDATE YOUR PROFILE before you complete the registration form. If you don't already have a profile then you can complete the registration form for the showcase AND save your details on the directory at the same time by completing this form Just click the CREATE X.TRAX VIRTUAL SHOWCASE PROFILE box at the top of the form.

I want to come to the showcase but I don't want to appear on the Directories or create a profile

If you want to register for the showcase but you DON'T want your details to appear on the Virtual Showcase directories you can do so by un-checking the box CREATE X.TRAX VIRTUAL PROFILE at the top of the form. Please note without a profile you will be unable to view the Promoters directory.
